Paper Dresses, Sculpture

Much like a bee gathers pollen to take back to the hive, over the past decade I have been gathering pieces of my family’s history in search of my identity. I explore the role my Irish ancestry plays in defining my evolving perceptions as a first generation Canadian. Continually I sift through information collected in various forms, including the tradition of oral narratives, fragmented documents, faded photographs and personal encounters to create an autobiographical body of sculptural work.
